Our Core Beliefs
We believe that there is one sovereign God eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things (1 Chronicles 29:12; Psalm 135:6; Acts 2:32-33, Mark 12:29-30; Hebrews 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17; John 1:1-3)
Jesus Christ, God’s pre-existing and only begotten Son and the Second Person of the Trinity, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life in a human body, performed many miracles, died as a substitute for us to pay for our sins, and rose from the grave, appeared to many, ascended to the Father’s right hand as Lord and King and is coming again to judge the world, receive His faithful followers and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords in the new heaven and new earth (Colossians 2:9; Luke 1:30-35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8;Acts 1:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 1:3-4; Hebrews 1:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
The Bible is the inspired word of God and sufficient to guide us in living a life that is pleasing to God. (Palm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:3-11)
Every person has worth as a creation and image bearer of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God whose standard is perfection. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23)
Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust in and give allegiance to King Jesus as Savior and Lord. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Those who put their faith in (give allegiance to) Jesus Christ are to repent of sin, confess their faith and be baptized (immersed) into Him. (Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9-10)
A repentant person has the assurance of being saved from his/her sins and enters a father-child relationship with God by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ at baptism. (Galatians 3:26-27; Acts 2:38; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-6)
The Church is the Body of Christ on earth, is empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to save the lost and edify the saved. (Ephesians 4:1-16; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38)
Evidence of a maturing follower of Jesus is an ever increasing obedience to Jesus and love demonstrated to one another. (Matthew 28:18-20; John 13:35; 14:21)
Jesus Christ will one day return to receive His faithful followers and continue to reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
