And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”  (Colossians 1:18)

Preaching Pastor:

A man approved by the elders and affirmed by the congregation whose primary role is to preach and teach as well as assist the elders in pastoral care, discipleship and leadership.

1 Timothy 5:17: The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching (1 Timothy 5:17, NIV84)

The Shepherd Elders and New Preaching Pastor Search Committee are currently seeking a new preaching pastor. (After serving as the full-time preaching pastor/minister for 24 years (Summer 2000-Summer 2024), Bart Newton stepped aside to pursue other ministry endeavors. He is very grateful for having had the privilege of serving in such a role in his hometown church.)

DEACONS:

Special servants in the church who assist the elders and are charged with oversight of certain service areas within the church.  (Acts 6:1-6)

"Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty" (Acts 6:3, ESV).

ministry Team leaders:

Assist the elders, deacons and ministry staff by using their gifts to lead ministry areas of the church.

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.  There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord…A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other(1 Corinthians 12: 4-5, 7, NLT).
